Normally our ego blames the outside world of people and situations for our difficult emotional reactions. “They made me feel like that! It’s not my fault! How dare they!” We get into a state of righteous indignation, thinking that we are right for reacting in that way. Or we are in denial about our over-reaction. We take things too personally, or we misinterpret things. Or we may see the worst intentions behind people’s behaviours. Basically, we keep making excuses to stay stuck where we are with our emotions.
